《战争机器》的宣传曲找到了 San Diego创作型歌手Gary Jules来演唱，Jules沙哑感性的嗓音，细腻的演唱，完美地诠释了《战争机器》的风格，有点无奈，有点绝望，有点灰暗。

06年11月，对微软来说是一个值得纪念的日子。在11月由Epic Games和微软(Microsoft)MSFT工作室开发的动作射击游戏《战争机器》(Gears of War)在北美地区发售，成为当时的XBOX360的救命稻草，也同时打消了许多人怀疑360是180的玩笑疑虑。目前《战争机器》在全球累计销量已经突破了400万大关。而且《战争机器2》也要在年底出炉，让战争机器迷们激动不已。

我第一次看到战争机器的时候，我就被他的厚重的人设所吸引，枪械机体很有金属感，而且与那种有点灰暗的世界观很相衬。这也许就是真正的美式ACT游戏吧，与我常玩的日式游戏的人设截然不同，另有一股粗犷的味道。战争机器的唯一缺点可能就是故事设定有点“俗套”，但是这只是微瑕，根本不能影响《战争机器》的成就。《战争机器》已经席卷各大媒体年度游戏、画面技术等奖项、AIAS(互动科技学院)、最佳游戏、最佳技术成就奖以及最佳视觉艺术奖数项大奖。
