喜欢《The Million Dollar Hotel》这部电影，也喜欢这部电影的音乐，两者有时没有必然的关联，或许只是碰了巧而已。

如果U2变成忧郁的蓝色会什么样子？这张唱片就是答案了。《百万大饭店》或许是Bono对文温德斯的一种音乐与影像的双向回映，文温德斯84年的《巴黎 德州》启发了U2的专辑《The Joshua Tree》，当乐团在为辑中单曲“Where The Streets Have No Name”拍摄音乐录影带时，主唱Bono在拍摄所在的饭店屋顶上拍一部电影的构想有了雏形。

在文温德斯的影像世界，情绪是一种空气，呼吸著都会人的心灵，是向往的幻灭，是幻灭的渴望，是迷失般的迷思，反覆的流浪与停驻，直到一切静止，感觉就会飘散成记忆的尘埃，永远无法落定，只能不断地去追寻、去反省。看着Tom在楼顶上狂奔，然后在黎明的光线中一跃而下，周而复始，犹如潮水。
