怎样形容这张专辑？黑暗、颓废、肮脏、迷幻、简约，我认为“伟大”是最为贴切的。

1967年发行的伟大专辑。尽管当年销量差强人意，但其地下摇滚形态，从整体角度来看,这是一张粗糙,充斥者噪音,暗示者性与毒品泛滥的专辑，而且已被公认为摇滚历史上最具影响力的伟大专辑。

这张专辑诞生在1967年,在那个年代，《The Velvet Underground & Nico》以及乐队，都成为了大家嘲笑讽刺唾骂的对象，这也在某种程度上成就了《The Velvet Underground & Nico》成为在非主流音乐发展历史上的一个先锋，一位先行者。70年代以及后期的许多乐队在成名之后曾坦言受到了很多地下丝绒的影响，可以说，70年代掀起的朋克风暴甚至是70年代末的英国金属新浪潮运动以及之后80年代的金属的辉煌都成为了地下丝绒影响的受体。

Brian Eno曾说过一句话，现在已经变得很出名的玩笑话：当初这个团出来的时候，没几个人买他们的唱片，但是买了唱片的那些人，後来都组了自己的团。Iggy Pop，U2，Sonic Youth都是曾受到过地下丝绒所释放出的特殊气质影响的乐队.
